“Beat the Blues”

I can’t believe that it’s December already and it’s 70 degrees in Houston and I haven’t even bought half of my Christmas gifts! These are such minor problems that I shouldn’t even worry about considering I have everything I need to be happy this Christmas: health, family and friends to share this special holiday season with.

So in this cheery, holiday spirit that I’m feeling I’m glad to help create awareness as a featured blogger about a crisis I knew very little about during this season—“During the holidays, inbound calls and text messages to Crisis Intervention of Houston’s Hotlines and Teen Text Line dramatically increase.”
Can you believe it? While some of us are thinking about gifts, partying and eating endless amounts of turkey many teens are feeling lonely, depressed and contemplating thoughts of suicide.
“Beat the Blues” is a fundraiser that will bring awareness to a crisis that knows no boundaries, while helping to combat Holiday Blues.

10833875_774678806008_541936567_nAt “Beat the Blues,” this Wednesday December 3rd, you’ll get to walk down the red carpet from 6-7pm and get your picture taken (if you didn’t get enough of that at Fashion Houston this past November), view & bid on a live fashion auction from designers Clarence Lee, Danny Nguyen, Lee Yates, Shevon, Natalie Harris from Damsel White Label and Chester Paul Roberts; laugh away the blues with Comedian Raj Sharma visiting from the well-known Laugh Factory in Hollywood, California; and capture a smile in the Slow Motion Video Booth and enjoy featured music by DJ Indo.
