Minted Christmas Cards

Our Minted Christmas Cards

*Thanks to Minted.com for partnering up with me on this post. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

The weather has finally cooled down in Houston! Getting my Christmas decorations out which happen to be blue (which color do you decorate with?) and taking out my fuzzy slippers and hot cocoa because the season has officially started. This past weekend we even lit up the chimney for the first and it was glorious. Now it’s true that there are many new traditions that I have started with Miguel but there’s one that happens to be my favorite each year: making our Christmas cards. From taking the photo with our dogs to printing them, I get so excited mailing them and handing them personally. It’s a sign that the Christmas season is here! This time around, I used Minted.com to print out our cards–see how lovely they turned out below!

I thought I’d give you some tips so you can have the cutest Christmas cards without sweating it:

  1. Scope holiday card designs first! Sometimes I fall in love with a design on Minted.com but it doesn’t match the outfit I am wearing in the photo or how the photo was taken. Choose the design first and that will dictate your outfit. Will the photo have to be vertical or horizontal so it fits the design you like? Something to keep in mind if you are using a photographer.
  2. You might already have your holiday photos on your phone. One year I had so much work to do I didn’t have time to hire a photographer. What I did instead on our card was a cute collage of the places we had traveled to. You can do the same!
  3. Personalize It. Whether it’s with a rubber stamp return address or the style of your card that reflects your family personality-make it fun! I opted to give our Christmas cards a bold touch of pink and wavy edges on their signature paper. Minted even has free custom envelopes and a free recipient addressing service on every card.
  4. Don’t procrastinate. Yes. So I’m looking like an overachiever here with my Christmas cards already printed but you still have time to print them out. If you’re all getting together for Thanksgiving this week, snap a family photo there and make it happen!
